Mind Surgeon

Mind Surgeons are scholars that focus their studies to the soul, body and the 
connection between them. Located in an isolated region on the kingdom, the Academy
of Physics and Metaphysics of Keldaminas accepts only those with those of high
psionic talent. Students enter the academy at an average age of 15, the most    
talented graduate in a period of 8 years, while others may take about 10 or    
12 years to achieve it.

Once scholars graduate they are encouraged to go out into the world and put their 
skills to use, are expected to share the knowledge gained through experience with 
their colleagues at the academy.

Requirements:
 
	To qualify as a Mind Surgeon, a character must meet the following criteria.


	Attendance at the Academy of Physics and Metaphysics at Keldaminas.
	Primary Dicipline: To become a Mind Surgeon the Psion must have Telepathy or
	Psychometabolism as primary disciplines.
	Profession (Medic): 8 ranks.
	Stabilize Self: 8 ranks.
	Heal: 4 ranks.
	Knowledge (Psionics): 8 Ranks.
	Knowledge (Anatomy): 4
	Ranks Psicraft: 8 Ranks.

Class Skills

   The Mind Surgeon's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are:

	Autohypnosis(Wis), Balance(Dex), Concentration(Con), Heal(Wis), Knowledge(any)
	(Int), Profession (Medic)(Wis), Psicraft(Int), Stabilize Self(Con).

	Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Class Features

All the following are class features of the mind surgeon class.

Armor and Weapon Proficiency: Mind Surgeons gain no proficiency in any armor or 
weapons, though they retain any knowledge gained from former classes.

Power Points: When they gain a level, Mind Surgeons gain power points per day    
as though they gained a level of psion. These power points are added to the 
character’s previous total. Mind Surgeons gain bonus power points based on the key 
ability score for their primary ability. If the character previously could not gain 
bonus power points for high ability scores (as is the case for psychic warriors), 
he now gains Telepathy and Psychometabolism as primary disciplines and can gain bonus 
power points based only on one of the related ability scores.    

Powers Discovered: Mind Surgeons discover powers per level as though they gained a level
of psion. Their effective manifester level is increased by one for each level of the 
prestige class. Bonus "d" discipline powers may be selected from either the Telepathic 
or Psychometabolism powers list.

Psionic Combat: Psionic attack and defense modes are discovered as though the character
were a psion of the same level as the prestige class. (Characters do not forget 
previously discovered attack and defense modes.)

Psicrystals: Mind Surgeon levels count toward the level of psion for purposes of
determining psicrystal intelligence and special abilities. Psicrystals are a class 
ability of psions. You must take at least one level of psion if you wish to encode a 
psicrystal.

0-Level Powers: Mind Surgeon levels count toward the level for purposes determining 
the number of free manifestations per day or your 0-level powers.

Mind Implant: At 3rd level of Mind Surgeon gains the Incarnate power as a bonus power.

Healing Touch: The Mind Surgeon has mastered the healing arts to the point that he can 
change the range of his powers. Any power in his list with a range of "personal" can be 
changed to "touch" at the expenditure of 3 additional power points.
 
Stasis Cocoon (SL): At 1st level, the Mind Surgeon gains the ability to encase creatures
of size up to large, in a cocoon made of hardened ectoplasm. Only dead, unconscious, or 
willing creatures may be encased in the Stasis Cocoon. While in the Stasis Cocoon, time 
is insignificant, effectively preventing bodies to decompose, and any afflictions to 
continue their development. This includes wounds, poisons, curses, diseases and the like.
The Mind Surgeon can only have one Stasis Cocoon created at any given time, and it 
continues to exist as long as the Mind Surgeon has 1 Power Point in reserve and stays at
a close range of it. 

The Stasis Cocoon was developed at the Academy of Physics and Metaphysics as tool to 
bring rare creature specimens and beings with strange afflictions for study at the 
Academy.

Anatomic Precision (Su): At 1st level, due to the extensive study of the different races 
and their anatomies, the Mind Surgeon gains the supernatural ability to increase its 
chance for a critical hit with any weapon he uses. A Mind Surgeon with the Anatomic 
Precision ability increases the threat reange of any weapon used by him by one.

Mind Cleanse (SL): You can remove any compulsions and charms (such as Crisis of Breath 
and Fatal Attraction) of any level . This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in it’s
aspect of manifesting. Power Points: 3.

Aura Cleanse (SL): You can remove any ongoing effects, incluind curses, caused by a 
psychic power except for hit points. This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in 
it’s aspect of manifesting. Power Points: 5.

Remove Disease (SL): The effects of this power are the same as those of the divine spell
of the same name Remove Disease. This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in it’s 
aspect of manifesting. Power Points: 5.

Neutralize Poison (SL): The effects of this power are the same as those of the divine 
spell of the same name Neutralize Poison. Power Points: 7.
Lifeforce Reconstitution (SL): You can restore all drained levels (or disperse all 
negative levels) afflicting the subject regardless of how he lost those  levels, 
restoring him to the highest level he had previously achieved. The drained levels are 
restored only if the time since the subject lost the level is no more than 1 day per 
manifester level. This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in it’s aspect of 
manifesting. Power Points: 7.

Attach Limb (SL): You can attach a limb to a body as described in the Renewal power. 
Power Points: 11.

Anatomy Psychosurgery (SL): You can permanently return a creature to it’s original form,
effective on most Psycometabolism, Polymorph and shapechanging effects. In the case 
of Shapechangers such as lycanthropes or dopperlgangers, the effect lasts only for 
1 hour, afterwards, the shapechanger may resume the use of it’s shapechanging abilities 
normally. This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in it’s aspect of manifesting. 
Power Points: 13.

Soul Cleanse (SL): Removes all forms of permanent insanity and confusion, natural and 
psionic. This works as the power Psychic Chirurgery in it’s aspect of manifesting. 
Power Points: 13.

Mind & Body Restoration (SL): Heals all temporary damage to ability scores and restores 
all points permanently drained from all ability scores. This works as the power Psychic 
Chirurgery in it’s aspect of manifesting. Power Points: 13.

Lifeforce Infusion (SL): This works as the Renewal power, except there is no level or 
constitution point loss. Power Points: 13.
